What Dante actually solves

Dante is a networked audio protocol that carries multiple channels of uncompressed digital audio over standard Ethernet, with the precise timing (sub-millisecond latency, sample-accurate synchronisation) that live audio and installed systems require. In practice, it means audio can be routed between devices — a DSP, a mixer, an amplifier several racks away — over the same network cabling as everything else, without a dedicated analogue snake or a separate audio-specific cable run for every signal path.

For amplifiers specifically, embedded Dante means a single Ethernet connection can feed multiple channels of audio to a rack of amplifiers, rather than requiring individual analogue runs to each unit. Per-Channel Processing, Not Just Amplification

Every output channel on the SR-AMP-DSP series carries eight bands of parametric EQ, crossover, delay, and limiting — processing that would otherwise require a separate outboard DSP unit ahead of a conventional amplifier.
